Abbi Menear

General Education Teacher

Abbi began her career at Strong Foundations in 2021 and obtained her Registered Behavior Therapist credentials soon after. In 2022, she started her role as a kindergarten classroom teacher. Abbi completed her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2012 at Ohio Valley University and holds a Teaching Certificate in Connecticut.

Throughout her career, Abbi has worked as a substitute teacher, camp teacher, after-school site manager, assistant camp director, camp director, and youth director. For eight years prior to starting at Strong Foundations, she served the youth in Hartford's North End neighborhood at a community-based organization that partnered with schools, churches, and other community-based organizations. During her time at this organization, she advocated for parents in IEP meetings, providing additional support to students struggling in school, and challenging students to do their best in every area (academic, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical).

Abbi is excited to bring this mindset and experience to the classroom and help them obtain the social, emotional, and academic skills needed to continue their academic journey.

Outside the classroom, Abbi enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and ministering at her church with the guitar and bass on the worship team.
