Meet Shaylyn
Shaylyn Charbonneau MA., LPC, BCBA, LBA, has seven-plus years of ABA experience since beginning her journey with Strong Foundations in early 2016. Shaylyn received her bachelor of arts from the University of Connecticut, where she majored in psychology and minored in women's studies. Shaylyn then graduated from Assumption College, receiving her Master's in Clinical Counseling Psychology with concentrations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family & Child Interventions. Shaylyn received her certificate in ABA through the Florida Institute of Technology. Through Strong Foundations, Shaylyn has experience working with autism spectrum disorders, those with physical or intellectual disabilities, and behavioral disorders. Shaylyn provides direct care at the center and in community settings.
Additionally, she is knowledgeable about creating and implementing social skills lesson plans. She has had the opportunity to develop a curriculum and has held the role of lead Classroom Instructor for the upper elementary-aged children at Strong Foundations. She has counseling and assessment experience with those with intellectual disabilities, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, social disorders, and Attention Deficit Disorder. Shaylyn is passionate about fostering progress, encouraging independence, and instilling hope in our children and families with Autism or any diagnosis.
Outside of her responsibilities at Strong, Shaylyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the movie theater, playing tennis, and playing with her puppy.
